American Library Association x NBC Banned Book Club
Amidst the growing censorship crisis in libraries across the U.S., we facilitated a first-of-its-kind Banned Book Club—televised on NBC stations nationwide—to raise awareness and support for intellectual freedom. Each month, we selected a banned book to spotlight, read and discuss with viewers and community members in an effort to address potential discomfort around themes, underscore the importance of diverse stories and voices, and strengthen support and advocacy for libraries. This initiative presented a creative approach to counter censorship efforts in libraries.

UN Women Climate Action Campaign
As the climate crisis continues to intensify, we worked with the UN's gender equality arm to develop a national campaign during Women's History Month, shedding light on ongoing challenges, highlighting women's contributions to environmental solutions and sustainability, and mobilizing others to join the global effort. Our efforts led to national media placements that underscored the urgency around addressing climate change and gender inequality in order to achieve globally beneficial solutions.

President Obama Intellectual Freedom Campaign
On behalf of the American Library Association, we coordinated a collaboration with President Barack Obama and the Obama Foundation to spotlight the rising book bans crisis, while encouraging the public to proactively engage in intellectual freedom advocacy. Our efforts resulted in a viral TikTok campaign featuring President Obama, in addition to an open letter to libraries and library workers expressing his support for them during this critical time. The letter, edited by our team, was widely shared and led to a significant boost in traffic to ALA's website, and subsequently, an increase in support for its intellectual freedom advocacy campaign, Unite Against Book Bans.

Expressions by Walgreens
We teamed up with GoldStar Communications and Walgreens to roll out a nationwide arts campaign in response to the teen mental health crisis. We worked to generate media coverage around the Expressions Challenge by showcasing the artwork produced by teens, often linked to social issues that continue to impact their mental health, including gun violence, cyber bullying, body image, the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic and more.

Roe v. Wade Press Conference
In partnership with Planned Parenthood, we coordinated a high-profile press conference led by Illinois Secretary of State Candidate Anna Valencia and other elected officials to address the controversial reversal of Roe v. Wade. We helped prepare Valencia as she delivered powerful remarks in response to the Supreme Court's decision, highlighting its implications on women's rights and reproductive freedoms.

Unite Against Book Bans Campaign
On behalf of the American Library Association, we prepared and coordinated an influx of national press coverage related to book bans and censorship in libraries in an effort to continue to stress the fundamental position of libraries as institutions designed to provide free access to information for all communities. The coverage opportunities served as critical calls to action, which were directed to the ALA's intellectual freedom campaign, Unite Against Book Bans.

Cybersecurity Crisis Training
As cybersecurity issues remain one of the top crises to impact all industries and with widespread data breaches on the rise, we have led a series of crisis trainings with IT and IS professionals to ensure they are prepared for potential cybersecurity threats and are ready and equipped with rapid response strategies. Our trainings included customized crisis simulations to test their ability to respond in high-stress situations, mitigate risks, address blind spots, and ultimately, better protect the data and sensitive information of their respective organizations and consumers.

American Library Association Media Training
As libraries continue to draw national attention, we conducted a series of comprehensive media trainings with the American Library Association's leaders, staff and members (comprised of librarians and library workers) to ensure they are prepared for high-profile press opportunities and media interviews that may discuss hot-button issues and present controversial questions in a hypersensitive and polarizing political climate.

Karen Chan-Elarde for School Board
As the national and local spotlight grows on school boards and their respective elections, we partnered with Skokie School Board Candidate Karen Chan-Elarde to implement a robust communications strategy to help ensure a successful election. From brand development to community engagement, we are working to elevate Chan-Elarde's work and commitment to safer schools, equity-driven programs and inclusive educational environments, while continuing to encourage support for more women and BIPOC candidates to run for public office.

United Nations Association Leadership Summit
On behalf of the United Nations Association, we led a session on developing communications tactics and strategies for effective advocacy work at the Leadership Summit in Washington D.C., featuring global leaders, NGO representatives and UN diplomats. We provided the audience with tangible steps and resources to help them better communicate and resonate with audiences, with the goal of inspiring them to answer their respective calls to action.

Youth Media Awards Public Speaking Coaching
In addition to the successful oversight of media relations efforts for the YMAs, our public speaking training provided a much-needed confidence boost to the presenters of the biggest annual literary awards, honoring recipients of the Caldecott, Newbery, Printz and more. As a result, participants showed great improvement to their public speaking and presentation delivery in contrast to previous years.

Anna Valencia for Illinois Secretary of State
During the heated and high-profile Illinois Secretary of State race ahead of the 2022 Midterm elections, we supported candidate Anna Valencia's campaign by developing communications strategies, conducting media trainings in anticipation of intense press interviews and engagements, and provided crisis management support as the race grew intense heading into the Primaries.

PAVE Rising: 20th Anniversary Event
As Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment (PAVE) prepared to celebrate its 20th anniversary, we helped craft a public relations plan that resulted in media coverage at a time when sexual violence and abuse was at the forefront of national news following the Me Too and Time's Up movements. We worked with PAVE to shed light on discussions related to consent, while highlighting the organization's meaningful contributions to the survivor community.

Library Journal Crisis Training
As library leaders enter the spotlight amidst censorship discussions and related issues, we partnered with the Library Journal to lead a customized crisis training session to help prepare library staff for potential issues or incidents that may occur in their respective libraries. We provided comprehensive strategies for multi-stakeholder management, in addition to resources to support them in the event of major threats or emergencies.
